Request Open Access

After completing the probationary period members may apply for an individual Open Access. This provides 365-day access to the range for practice, firearm sighting and ammunition testing.

All applications are subject to OPC Committee review.

To be eligible applicants must demonstrate proficiency in all aspects of firearms safety and have demonstrated sufficient practical experience at OPC. These requirements exist to protect both your safety and that of other members.

No exceptions are made regardless of prior experience.

Eligibility Conditions

  • – Minimum 6 months membership at OPC.
  • – Hold a General Category H Handgun Licence (not provisional).
  • – Complete 4 assessed matches at OPC, used to evaluate safety proficiency for Open Access.
  • – Assessment matches cannot be Air Pistol matches.
  • – Completed assessment matches with an appropriate firearm for the match.
  • – Each match must be signed off by a Range Officer (RO) on your attendance sheet.

Eligibility Conditions

  • – The RO cannot be a family member.
  • – The RO cannot be a personal friend.
  • – The RO cannot be a your OPC mentor.
